Pakistan Institute of Trade and Development (PITAD), formerly known as Foreign Trade Institute of Pakistan (FTIP), since it’s in inception is primarily providing specialized training to the newly inducted officers of the Commerce and Trade Group of civil services of Pakistan.

The main objective of the Specialized Training Programme (STP) is to equip the young officers with latest information in disciplines relevant to international trade and commerce aligning with their future career demands.

Vision

A knowledge-based center acting as platform that is accessible to both domestic and international trade policy maker in area of international trade and related matter.

Mission

To establish a state-of-the-art institute, which trains the officers both from public and private sectors and serves as knowledge hub in trade and commerce related matters.

Message from Director General

It gives me great pleasure to introduce you to PITAD. It is my privilege and an extreme honor to get connected with my alma mater —PITAD as Director General. I started my career with PITAD as a Probationary Officer and now at the twilight of my career, with vast experience of different organizations, I feel it as my responsibility to impart the knowledge that I have gained over the years to young officers of Commerce and Trade Group.

PITAD is an institution that builds up the foundation of career officers, who are to serve the country at home and overseas dealing with international trade matters, negotiating trade agreements and instrumental in enhancing the trade activity.

PITAD provides best learning environment in its state-of-the-art building equipped with latest technology at par with other specialized training institutes within Pakistan. PITAD team is committed to design its course and teaching modules in accordance with international trade laws and policies that are relatable to Pakistan.

The Institute aims to develop linkages with international academia and international trade promotion organizations. It is my utmost desire to raise the level of PITAD to center of excellence, and the first point of contact for any research study that is needed for the promotion of export and trade analysis reports.
